SCOUTS CHRISTMAS TREE & CAKE FUNDRAISING SUCCESS 2024!!

Thank you to all our volunteers- Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Sea Scouts, Leaders and parents. Our annual Christmas fundraiser took place at Dobbies Garden Centre in Hare Hatch, Twyford and was a huge success!

We raised a fantastic £3957 including Gift Aid over the three weekends!

Our volunteers assisted customers by taking their Christmas trees to their cars as well as running a guess the weight of the cake & number of jelly beans stall.

We had a fabulous time helping the community whilst raising funds and getting into the Christmas spirit. These funds are essential for the running of our group for example purchasing equipment and maintaining our Scout hut.

We look forward to Christmas 2025!

Our next big annual fundraiser is the Summer Regatta on the River Thames. Look out for further details.

84th Reading Needs You!

Your local Scout group relies on volunteers giving up their time to help children and young adults develop life long skills.

However, due to the combination of limited volunteers but high demand for spaces in each of our sections we are at risk of having to reduce the number of activities or places that we are able to offer.

We therefore need your help! We have a range of vacancies that we need to fill to ensure we can continue to offer great scouting opportunities to young people in our local area. Some of these roles are purely administrative and others could be shared if you are concerned about the time commitment.

The roles are:

  1. Group Lead Volunteer (GLV)
  2. Team Leaders
  3. Team Assistants
  4. IT Coordinator
  5. Chair
