Scouts

Scouts is our section for Boys & Girls aged 10.5 to 14.
At the 84th Reading Scout Group our Scout Patrol meets on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm in our scout hut near St. Peter’s Church Hall, during school term times only.
The programme offers fun filled activities both in the hall and around the community, including games, hikes, community work, outdoor adventures, water sports, snow sports, visits and sleepover camps.
If you are interested in applying for a place for your child to join our Scouts when they are old enough then please fill in a joining form and we will add them to our waiting list.
Places will be allocated based on our waiting list policy; we will contact you to confirm your child has been added to our waiting list and then if and when a space is available for your child to join.
If you are aged over 18 and would like to join our enthusiastic team of Leaders please fill in a volunteering form.

Badges

Purple Membership badge and green group badges are awarded when first invested.
Blue activity badges are earned in one or two sessions. Light blue activity badges are staged badges which have a number on – when sewing on a higher number the lower number badge should be removed.
Dark blue challenge badges require many sessions to complete and when all 9 have been collected they will earn the Chief Scout Gold award.
Badges are awarded at our badge ceremony at the end of each half-term.
