Beavers

Beavers is the Scout section for boys & girls aged 6 to 8.
Our Beaver Scout Colony meets on Fridays from 5:30pm to 6:45pm in Radstock Lane Community Centre during school term times only.

The Colony offers a programme of fun filled activities both in the hall and around the community, including games, hikes, community work, outdoor adventures, water sports, visits, sleepover camps and parties.

In Beavers we prioritise the core Scouting values of Fun, Friendship and Adventure. Beavers learn skills for life and build confidence to progress to Cubs after turning 8 years old.

If you are interested in applying for a place for your child to join our Beavers, please email our Membership Secretary and we will add them to our waiting list.

Badges

When invested, the World, County, District and Group badges are presented to each Beaver along with their neckerchief and lodge colour woggle.

Yellow activity badges are earned in one or two sessions. Blue activity badges are staged badges which have a number on – when sewing on a higher number the lower number badge should be removed and can be sewn on a camp blanket.

Red challenge badges require many sessions to complete and when all six have been awarded, at least four activity badges and the Beaver has attended a sleepover camp they will earn the Chief Scout Bronze award.

Badges are awarded at our badge ceremony at the end of each half-term.
